racing cancelled – no wind

Sailing today from the slipway to Harts then the Green mark and around the point to Conniborrow and over to Faughan. F3 very shifty.
Strong tides.
Great to see Barry N back sailing again after an absence of several years. Welcome back Barry.
In the second race the tide played a major factor. The first two boats got finished ok. Anton H and Barry N managed just about ok but for the boats behind them it was increasingly difficult. Well done to everyone for finishing!

A medium light winds evening. Great to see Cecil T out in the phantom and doing very well in that notoriously difficult boat.

A very windy evening. Multiple capsizes (all recovered without a problem). Anton H got the Laser moving very well but couldn’t catch Peter F and James H

Anton H tried out his new sail and gave Ken and Davy a fair race in race 1. The second race was shortened as strong tides and dropping wind made finishing difficult.

Racing the LFYC zig zag course, pearch, harts, powerstation, conninborrow, faughan.
In race 1 a gust came up and put the scorpion over near conniborrow. The Doherty bros got her back up no problem. The capsize was complicated (caused by) the fact that the pin came out of the boom.

The three PICOs Tom, Dick and harry were also out but camne in just before racing started, great to see themn all nonetheless. Bill J is doing a great job with the PICOs and getting people started with sailing.
Anton H was on his way out to join the PICo’s but tore the sail on the laser on the gatepost as he was leaving the boat house. doh!
Light winds over to the green mark, reach up to harts down to conniborrow (tight reach/beat) over to faughan x2.
In race two three boats were over the line. All went back.

I was in this race but cannot remember a single thing about it. Actually I do, I remember Brendan came along. He is a new member and he sailed the club laser. Other than that, nada.

This looks like a grim race with little wind. The second race was abandoned.
