Close racing here as seen by the times. I didn’t see the race on the day but there was a note on the OD’s report indicating that Peter F and Ken L may have swapped out between races. Could interested parties please clarify

I didn’t see these races myself but I note some very close times with Joe and Richard racing very well especially as this their fist season in the GP

A fantastic day for sailing, bright sunshine and steady strong wind (f4)

Congratulations to the Doherty Bros who won race 1. George D pointed out that this was his first sail since he turned 70 years of age.

Congratulations also to Anton H who sailed the laser well in race 2.

Congratulations to Bill and James J who came out on top in a very close second race between the top three GP14’s

Great to see Commodore Ken D out in the Scorpion.

Great also to see Kevin T out in his Laser.

Great to see Alan T in a new GP14. Great to see the McGuinness Bros sailing in Culmore in ther brand new Gp14. Welcome also to Danny McDonald in his new GP14.
One race in light winds.

Congratulations to George G in his Solo who won the race with a good margin

Racing today from the Perch, to Muff to Faughan to Powerstation X2 in race 1 and just one lap in race 2.
In race 2 Bill and James and Ken and Peter got involved in a luffing battle enabling Anton H to get by easily. Bill and James J came in second holding Ken and Pete off by 0.5 of a second.

Great to see Rich from Bill J’s training session out in the Pico.

A windy evening. Sailing from the perch to Muff to Faughan to a mark near the perch x2. A very long beat down to Muff made more difficult by the waves. A very close race between the two GP14’s.

In other news Jack Hutton will be pleased to pass on the “LFYC I forgot to put in the bungs” trophy to Ken Louden and Alan Thompson who scoped the award in a surprise move on Tuesday night. Jack had spectacularly won the trophy at the Peace Bridge race last year. Ken and Alan will be pleased to hold onto the award until the next winner comes along. The award is open to all boats and all levels of experience.

Perch, Muff, Faughan x2

Peter F encountered the Perch at the start of race 1. Start lines are competitive but the perch doesnt move.
In race two Anton H was defending against Bill J in gybing battle doing quete well until he did the treble: caught the sheet in the transom, dropped the tiller and hit his head on the boom. All this resulted in a 360 degree gybe much to the amusement of the Bill and James J who sailed by.

Ken L and Alan T got into some sort of technical difficulties (don’t know what, some sort of leak) and had to return to shore.

Other than that a peaceful night of sailing was had by all.

Great racing today with 5 GP14 in close races. Wind steady at about F4. Course from the perch then beat to black brea and reach to Conniborrow and run back to a mark near the Perch. The second race the course was changed to Muff, Faughan and the mark near the perch.
Pete F and James H had a capsize on the run. At the start line in race 1, nearly everyone was over. Great to see Anton H back out in the GP14 sailing this time with Gareth G.

Very windy day. Most of the fleet away in Mullingar at GP14 event. Eventually two young lads and someone who should have had more sense went out for a burn. Multiple capsizes ensued but it was great crack. After a sudden leeward exit from the boat Anton H found himself in shallow water and walked around most of the course.
