Just two boats sailing today. James P H and Alan T and Anton H and Joy W. Both races went to James and Alan. That also concludes Series A. A conclusion that is of sorts. Series A was scrambled together spanning the lockdown – but we have a result and congratulations go to Anton H and Joy W who take the series for 2020.

No sailing today – no wind

No sailing today – too windy. James P and Alan T went out or a burn in their GP.
Race 3+4
So almost 5 months after race day one of the season we are back on track. It was a fine day for the restart of the season. A good breeze but a bit damp, good spirits nonetheless. Great to see David T and Son out sailing again. Welcome back guys! Anton H and Joy W going well today in the GP.
Race 1+2
So, somewhat in the shadow of the Coronavirus the sailing season started. On the 14th of March four brave and hardy boats gathered for the first race of the season. It was windy! In race one Bill J in the club laser hit some technical issues and was out before the race started. Anton H managed to catch up on James P H and Alan T in their new GP and took the race on LFYC handicap. In race two Anton H capsized his Laser just before start. Got back up well enough and figured he was well placed for a nice start line. For a few moments all was going well. He then cut the end of the pier to tight and came to crunching stop as the dagger board hit the submerged pier. The OD managed (just) to suppress laughter and everybody sympathized in the usual LFYC way.
James and Alan screamed off and won the race going very well in the new GP.
And so ended day one of the season.
The days sailing reported above might pass without further comment EXCEPT for the Coronavirus. The Commodore has suspended all sailing activity for the time being. We will need to figure out a new schedule in due course. For the meantime its goodnight from LFYC, stay safe and we look forward to future fairer winds and meeting again sooner rather than later.
